Requirements for exports

TREQ Translate makes managing translations easy by allowing you to export your Shopify product data, product Metafield, and collection data into a CSV format or directly into Airtable.

If you choose Airtable as import or export option please go through guide (How to connect Airtable) which help you to understand how to setup Airtable with TREQ Translate.

Product Export:

While exporting product data you can select which field you want to export from Apps > TREQ Translate > Settings.

  1. 1) Export to CSV
    1. - When you export data as a CSV, you can download a ready made CSV file with required and selected fields from the Settings section.
  2. 2) Export to Airtable

    Before exporting data in Airtable, you will need to create the required columns. Here is the list of columns that are required in Airtable:

    1. shopify_product_id (Required)
    2. shopify_product_handle (Required)
    3. locale (Required)
    4. title (Required)
    5. body_html
    6. product_type
    7. meta_title
    8. meta_description

We suggest that you create the same table with matching column names as shown in the above screenshot in Airtable. After that, you can export product data in Airtable.

Product Metafield Export:

To export product Metafields, you’ll need to assign a metafield in namespace & key in specific formats like NameSpace.Key Apps > TREQ Translate > Settings.

  1. 1) Export to CSV
    1. - When you export data as a CSV, you can download a ready made CSV file with required and selected fields from the Settings section.
  2. 2) Export to Airtable

    - To export product metafield data in Airtable, you’ll need to create columns first. Here is the list of columns you’ll need in Airtable:

    1. shopify_product_id (Required)
    2. locale (Required)
    3. namespace (Required)
    4. key (Required)
    5. value (Required)

Collection Export:

While exporting collection data, you can select which fields you want to export from Apps > TREQ Translate > Settings.

  1. 1) Export to CSV
    1. - When you export data as a CSV, you can download a ready made CSV file with required and selected fields from the Settings section.
  2. 2) Export to Airtable

    - To export collection data in Airtable, you’ll need to create columns first. Here is the list of columns you’ll need in Airtable:

    1. shopify_collection_id (Required)
    2. shopify_collection_handle (Required)
    3. locale (Required)
    4. title (Required)
    5. body_html

We suggest you create the same table with matching column names as shown in the above screenshot in Airtable. After that, you can export the collection data in Airtable.

    5. translated_value (Required)

Collection Import:

  1. 1) Import from CSV
    1. - When you import collection data from a CSV, you can download a ready made CSV file for collection data import with required and selected fields from below link.

  2. 2) Import from Airtable

    - To import collection data from Airtable to Shopify, you’ll need to make sure you have required columns in Airtable. Here is the list of columns you’ll need in Airtable:

    1. shopify_collection_id (Required)
    2. locale (Required)
    3. translated_handle
    4. translated_title
    5. translated_body_html
    6. translated_meta_title
    7. translated_meta_description

We suggest that you create the same table with matching column names as shown in the above screenshot in Airtable. After that, you can import collection data from Airtable to Shopify directly.

How to connect airtable

TREQ Translate makes managing translations easy by allowing you to import your Shopify product data, product Metafield, and collection data directly from Airtable into Shopify.

To Connect your Airtable account with TREQ Translate, please go to Apps > TREQ Translate > Integration

To grant TREQ Translate access to your bases using a Personal Access Token, follow these steps:

  • 1. Create your Personal Access Token: you can follow this official airtable documentation on how to create it to your account.
  • 2. Select the following scopes: data.records:read data.records:write schema.bases:read webhook:manage
  • 3. Provide the Airtable Personal Access Token and hit the "Test Connection" button to validate it.

Settings for Import:

After connect it to Airtable you can select table for Product, Product Metafield & Collection

After connect it to Airtable you can select table for Product, Product Metafield & Collection.
